QiuQian (Erica) Lin

Qiuqian (Erica) Lin is a fashion designer who graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2017. She is currently based in Shenzhen, China. Lin has collaborated with various young designer brands in China, UK, and Europe. One of her passions is painting, which serves as a medium for expressing the challenges she faced while growing up as a woman from Chaoshan area (where people value males and belittle females). Through her artworks, she shares her experiences of fragmentation and self-reinvention. In her paintings, Lin finds solace in confronting her darker aspects and addressing the traumas that she cannot easily discuss with others. Painting serves as her comfort zone and secret sanctuary of personal struggle. It has the power to induce a profound sense of calm and allows her to explore freely the multitude of possibilities that exist within her, creating a parallel time and space for self-expression.
