About the work

In 'Torero', the confrontation becomes an inner battle. The two figures represent the self and the inner critic, the voice that questions, judges and undermines us. The image reflects the struggle between who we are and the version of ourselves we believe we should be. We can be our own harshest critic, often placing limits on ourselves that others never asked us to carry. The battle is not against another person, but against the part of ourselves that holds us back.
