About the work

Emerging from a hand-drawn sketch, the sculpture was developed through iterative digital inflation. A rigid triangulated lattice expands as if filled with air, transforming into an accumulation of soft, bulbous volumes, interconnected limbs and cavities. 3D-printed and flocked with nylon fibres, the work combines technological precision with an unexpectedly soft, tactile surface. Its pale blue skin obscures the fabrication process, evoking a cellular organism, molecular structure, imaginary body or mutated architectural model. Simultaneously constructed and seemingly grown, the work explores the boundary between rigid structure and organic matter, architectural artefact and living form.
