This work forms part of a broader body of paintings that combine digital and analogue processes to produce a synthetic image suspended between the physical and the virtual.
The colour palette and title evoke the vast expanse of an empty beach, reduced to broad, abstract fields of colour. Against this open space, a looping, almost reclining form emerges. Rendered with a degree of transparency, it absorbs and distorts the colours beneath it, creating a sense of movement within an otherwise still composition. The form appears at once physical and simulated, reinforcing the tension between the tangible and the digitally constructed.
Alessandro Magliani (Milan, 1992) is an artist and architect based in London. Trained at the Architectural Association, his practice brings architectural and painterly processes into dialogue. Responding to the increasingly digital nature of architectural production, he explores digital modelling as a tool for physical expression. His process combines clay modelling, 3D scanning and digital rendering to develop fluid, organic forms that become the conceptual and compositional basis for his oil paintings. His work explores the tension between digital precision and tactile materiality through flow, movement and structure.
