Two figures moving forwards/away from the prevailing situation and the past - and against unwanted influences.

Since studying Fine Art at City & Guilds and Camberwell College of Art in London, Sonia Martin has exhibited her paintings and prints in the UK and abroad including at the Royal Academy Summer Show, the London Original Print Fair and the Bankside gallery.  She is a recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Award, a London Art Biennale Exhibition Award, and she has been shortlisted for the Contemporary British Painting Prize.

Her work deals with dichotomies, exploring the lines between reality and imagination, the mundane and the extraordinary. There is often an element of search, to question and transcend everyday assumptions.
