The Seductress consists of two panels. Five headless female bodies intertwine and overlap, appearing playful, faceless, and boneless, forming a gender-fluid, flesh-and-blood body landscape. Through the communication of the body itself, the work creates a dialogue of beauty and desire.
Qiuxiang Liu (Rainy Tong) is a London-based painter (b. 1986, China) who holds an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art. Her practice centers on the female body and spans painting, sculpture, installation, performance, and poetry.
In July 2025, Rainy held her solo exhibition With Rainy Eyes at RuptureXIBIT in London, following her first solo show, While Repeating I Love You, Nothing Will Die! in July 2022 in Shenzhen, China. She has also participated in various residencies and group exhibitions in London and beyond.
Rainy paints the female body in bold entanglements, exploring themes of beauty, gender and identity fluidity. Her current practice is inspired by the poetic act of blossoming, creating a playfulscapes by constructing the female body in poetic, erotic, vibrant ways—delving into the adventure, mystery, and rupture embedded within. Through exploring the body itself, Rainy is moving toward abstraction and material exploration. Her work challenges traditional social norms and seeking to liberate the female body from its fixed position in history and mainstream culture, making the invisible visible.
