Young Artist Project
In recent years, Jiaxi Han has conducted a series of research on the Thangka art and humanistic environment of Tibet. All the photographic works created as core materials for this case study were completed under low-light conditions, presenting the details and humanistic atmosphere of Thangka art from a unique photographic perspective.
My case study on Thangka culture focuses on the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and is dedicated to the protection and continuation of this heritage. I am from Beijing and currently studying at Emma Willard School in New York, USA.
I observe that the accelerated development of technology, diverse brand cultures, contemporary art, and other cultural phenomena collectively form the core framework of modern cultural life. I was fascinated by the exquisite craftsmanship of Thangka painting and hope to use visual images as a practical carrier to promote the dissemination of Thangka art and support its "living inheritance". Furthermore, I aspire to showcase these "moments of being gazed at" through my works and present these unique cultural messages to the world in my own way.
