About the work

Entangled Atlas is a speculative film, first shown at El Espacio Fundación Telefónica as part of Windows to the Future - an exhibition imagining optimistic future scenarios far removed from the most conventional stereotypes of science fiction. The diptych presents an allegorical world where everyday human spaces are entangled with persistent real-time digital twins of more-than-human landscapes. These phantom apparitions give presence to distant ecologies that call for us to form deep and long-lasting relationships with more-than-human kin. The world of Entangled Atlas signals the potential for near future technologies to facilitate a return to animist attitudes, as we consider what it means to dwell with our only Earth with great attention and care, whilst also treading lightly.

Inferstudio

Inferstudio is a digital worldbuilding and investigative design studio. We create immersive films and images that imagine fictional futures; both aspirational and cautionary. We also develop digital visualisations that interpret and communicate complex environmental realities from our world today.

Our approach is multi-disciplinary by nature. We work through architectural visualisations, immersive art installations, original animated films, data visualisation platforms, title sequences, documentaries, visual essays and more. We are also regularly engaged in teaching - currently at the RCA, London. Our projects converge around themes of ecology, land/ocean-scapes, and extended reality.
